Upcoming Events

Camp Odyssey now has one week in Shawnee Park as part of the Camp Odyssey series. Children K-6 will discover the secrets of the Earth through hiking and exploring Shawnee Park's trails, learning songs about nature, discovering recipes, and more! Camp Instructors will ignite children's imaginations with music, art, stories, cooking, and games! This camp is designed to give children the time, space, and resources to start a life-long relationship with nature. Scholarships available.

Mindfulness meditation has been clinically demonstrated to increase relaxation, relieve stress, reduce anxiety and bolster self-esteem. The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Time Magazine are putting mindfulness on the front page. Modern science is learning that the ancient spiritual practice of meditation is relevant to addressing complex modern problems. This free 60-minute workshop will give you a basic introduction to the theory and practice of mindfulness meditation, as well as its physical, psychological and spiritual benefits.

Join us on Sunday, April 28 at 4 p.m. for a nature hike and participate in the 2024 iNaturalist City Nature Challenge Bioblitz. We will explore the trails and gardens at the Earth & Spirit Center with naturalist, Tim Darst to photograph and identify plants and animals as a part of this city-wide challenge to measure the biodiversity of Jefferson County. Get to know local flora and fauna while participating in citizen science.
