Jenny Schiller is a licensed marriage and family therapist and spiritual director. She has been providing counseling with individuals, couples and families in the Louisville area for over 18 years. Jenny first learned meditation in high school through Trinity high school theatre arts program. She has since provided guided meditation and mindfulness to adults and children of all ages. Jenny is committed to helping people reduce stress, practice better self-care, improve relationships, and increase compassion for self and others.
Jenny enjoys creative writing, gardening, reading and travel. She has completed the Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James) pilgrimage in Spain (500 miles) and this Spring plans to lead her second group pilgrimage experience on the Camino de Santiago. All of life is a journey, a pilgrimage that begins at the moment we enter the world and continues throughout our lifetime. We are physical, emotional, and spiritual beings with much to learn and much to offer to one another. Jenny is committed to inclusivity for all persons and believes that each person has value and worth and should be treated with equality.
Jenny earned a Doctor of Ministry degree and a Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary where she has worked as Director of Clinical Training and Adjunct Professor. Jenny completed her undergraduate studies at Hanover College, majoring in French, and earned a law degree from the University of Louisville. Jenny is a member of Spiritual Directors International, is a clinical fellow in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists and is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association. Jenny has training in Emotion-Focused Therapy, Family Constellation work, and Spiritual Development. As a lifelong learner, Jenny is currently taking classes to improve her Spanish language skills.
Jenny has led workshops and retreats on self-care, stress reduction, improving relationships and connecting with one’s own faith and spirituality. Jenny has been a speaker for church, school, and senior care facilities. She supervises counselors in training and provides consultation to other therapists and spiritual directors. Jenny has worked with children ages preschool through high school as a therapist, school counselor, and retreat director. Her work with adults includes time in parish ministry, individual, couple and family counseling across generations. She has taught in high schools and graduate school at Louisville Seminary for counselors and ministers in training. Her volunteer experience includes Dare to Care, Catholic Charities work with immigrants and refugees, Girl Scout leadership, parish and school volunteer work, and serving on the Board of Directors of Crossroads Ministry.
