Karl is a spiritual director, retreat leader, and retired Episcopal priest. He offers spiritual direction at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, where he assists with preaching and teaching. He has a deep interest in interfaith dialogue and the male spiritual journey. He is married with two adult children.
Karl earned his Ph. D. in spiritual formation from Duquesne University. He holds a bachelors degree in psychology from Kenyon College and a masters degree in counseling from Duquesne.
Karl has served as an Episcopal priest in parishes in Ohio, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Zambia in central Africa. He has been a spiritual director for over twenty years and served as faculty in formation programs for spiritual directors in Columbus, Ohio and in Rochester, New York. He has worked with Spiritual Directors International, offering several workshops on men’s spirituality at their annual conference. He has served as adjunct faculty for Bexley Seabury Seminary.
