Class Description
“The heart that breaks open can contain the whole universe.”
-Joanna Macy, eco-philosopher, activist and scholar.
Grounded in Joanna Macy and Molly Brown’s guide to The Work That Reconnects, we will explore lessons, exercises and journaling reflections that wake up our agency to act from a place of active hope, rooted in a deep sense of love and belonging in the natural world. This course will support you in becoming more intimate with your ecological self by expanding your awareness beyond the confines of your singular human life and opening you to a sense of interbeing with all life on Earth.
While this course will be offered online in an asynchronous format that you can access in your own time and space, we will also be facilitating an optional weekly workshop group on Zoom each Tuesday from 6:00-7:00 PM on March 16, 23, 30 and April 6. During this time, we will build upon and deepen your individual reflections by engaging in dynamic group exercises that move through the four-part spiral of The Work That Reconnects as a collective. These sessions will begin a week after the online content is available so you can work through each week’s content before the Zoom group. Space in the workshop group is limited.
