Join us as we rediscover the sacredness of the natural world and how we can use its constant presence to anchor ourselves mindfully in this moment. Readings each week will explore the elements of Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water, and, on the fifth week, how our consciousness draws us into relationship. Participants will be invited to select a “sit spot” both at home and on the ground of the Earth and Spirit Center, where we’ll sit in reflection on the land and recognize our interbeing with nature. Time will be given each week for sit spot practice as well as article discussion.
Class Description
Participants will learn how to create a sit spot as an invaluable spiritual exercise and space to mindfully reflect on and connect to the Earth.
Through study and discussion, students will rediscover the sacredness in every element of the natural world. Their vision of the environment will shift from background to a living, breathing fabric of which they are an integral piece. The natural world, which is always with us, becomes our grounding tool to keep us in the present moment.
Individuals will understand how and why cultural traditions- both ancient and modern- recognize the components that make up our world as integral, sacred, and necessary.
