Cory has been the Retreat Director at the center since July 2025. Prior to that she had taught classes and been a part of Camp Odyssey at PESC. Cory’s experience includes over 3 decades of teaching and facilitating locally, nationally, and internationally; curriculum and program development for diverse constituencies on topics such as social justice, compassion, nonviolence, and mindfulness; and participation in social actions aimed at creating a more just and peaceful world. Cory looks forward to nurturing relationships with those who’ve been connected to PESC for many years and building new connections with individuals and community partners seeking to be nourished and challenged through practices of community, awakening, and service.
Cory has a Masters in Teaching and a Masters in Spirituality, both from Bellarmine University. She also has extensive training in Nonviolent Communication.
Cory has over 30 years of experience as a teacher and facilitator in traditional and nontraditional settings. In 2013 when she trained to be a human rights defender in Palestine, she made a commitment to the practice of nonviolence that continues to guide her.
Cory has written programs for JustFaith Ministries. She has taught classes on nonviolence at Bellarmine University. As founder of Hart Communication, LLC, Cory has also created and facilitated programming that bring together practices of Nonviolent/Compassionate Communication, mindfulness, and creativity for local, national, and international groups.
