As greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise and the planet warms, the impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly visible in our communities and around the world. While we are already experiencing these changes, today’s young people will live with many of the most significant impacts of a changing climate. For many young adults, that reality is a call to action.
Co-sponsored by Kentucky Interfaith Power & Light and the Passionist Earth & Spirit Center (PESC), OurEarthNow (OEN) is a youth-led initiative working to raise awareness, inspire engagement, and empower young people to take meaningful action for social and environmental change.
OEN is currently preparing the next generation of environmental advocates through its Louisville Environmental Activist Training program. The training provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to move from concern and ideas to informed, effective action—and to help create a healthier, more just, and sustainable future. There is a place for everyone in this movement. OurEarthNow welcomes young people who want to learn, connect with others, and become more engaged in social and environmental justice.
