Camp Odyssey continues with Plants, Trees, and Me – Week 8- August 1
Week 8 – Plants, Trees, and Me
Nature Campers will learn all about flowers, plants, fruits, veggies, trees, how to identify them, what they need to grow and how we can care for them. They will learn about invasive species and have time to serve the Earth by removing some of them. There will be songs, games, and art work based on these elements of nature. The week will end with the culmination of an understanding of how each camper can change our world for the better.
- Day 1 – Wild Flowers
- Day 2 – Vegetables/Fruits
- Day 3 – Trees
- Day 4 – Invasive Species
- Day 5 – Plants, Trees, Me – How we all connect
Activities:
- Identify plants
- Explore and label plants
- Create art from wildflowers, leaves, plants
- Learn about invasive species
- Help to remove invasive species
- Create new habitats with the left over invasive species
- Tending the garden
- Camper learns how they fit into the community of the Earth
- Music
- Journaling
