Public Safety Without Racism

In our city and at the state and federal level, new policies meant to “increase public safety” are introduced with fervor and regularity. These are issues of major concern to us all. Sadly, though, public safety and racism are deeply intertwined in our country, and efforts to “increase safety” too often violate civil rights and cause real harm to people of color.
