Class Description
Camp Odyssey at Shawnee is a nature-based summer camp located in Shawnee Park in partnership with the Louisville ECHO Program, where children explore the woodlands and open spaces of one of Louisville’s iconic Olmsted Parks.
Guided by artists, garden and environmental educators, and meditation instructors, campers learn how ecosystems work, where food comes from, and how to practice mindfulness and compassion through hands-on experiences.
Each week includes hiking, gardening, creating nature art, discovering insects, playing educational games, meditating, and enjoying imaginative and free play, along with making healthy snacks and building friendships—all designed to nurture a lifelong connection to the natural world.
Thank you to our partners - Louisville ECHOand Rainbow Blossom!

Camp Odyssey is committed to a safe educational environment for all of our campers and staff, free from harassment, intimidation or bullying. We focus on redirecting any inappropriate behavior, as well as using positive narration to help encourage appropriate behavior. A very important part of our program is giving children the opportunity to learn how to get along in the world, enjoy being with other children, problem solve and follow the direction of an adult other than their parents. A caring and positive approach will be taken regarding behavior management and discipline.
