Welcome to Mindfulness and Movement. Using the lens of yogic understanding, we'll make connections to ancient practices, interpreted and offered in a gentle, accessible way for modern life. As the name of the class implies, we'll use motion (asana) to aid our mindfulness practice. We'll use breathing practice (pranayama) to settle our nervous system, aid relaxation, and draw our senses inward (pratyahara), fostering the wisdom of our bodies and using it to cultivate a deeper connection to ourselves and the world around us.
Physical requirements: Sitting and standing will be required. All yoga postures can be modified for a seated position or another variation that accommodates restricted motion. Sitting on the floor will not be required.
