
“Writing as Spiritual Practice” is a 3 week course aimed to guide participants in growing their creativity/spirituality through writing and bearing witness.
Class Description
Each week, trauma-informed meditation teacher and writer/performer Leah Raidt will introduce new teachings and provide writing exercises and prompts intended to expand one’s creative process and generate new work. Participants will engage in writing as spiritual practice through a variety of techniques including journaling, poetry, letters and correspondence, prayer and invocation, and (optional) communal sharing. Each week, students will be provided resources to continue their explorations and practice outside of class.
Class includes:
- Build a consistent, sustainable writing practice
- Deepen relationship with one's creative nature, writing process, and personal connection to Spirit.
- Explore new tools and prompts for generating new work and utilizing writing as a spiritual practice
- Enhance listening skills and cultivate your voice
- Learn and engage with new concepts, terms, practices and readings from a variety of eastern and western faith and literary traditions
- Practice vulnerability and build community through sharing and bearing witness to others.
