
Cory Lockhart is the Interim Retreat Director of the Earth and Spirit Center. Her previous experience with the center includes teaching Nonviolent/Compassionate Communication, both to adults and to Camp Odyssey participants, and Racial Equity. Cory has over 30 years of experience teaching folks from ages 5 to 95- in the U.S., India, Palestine, and to audiences of mixed cultural backgrounds.
Cory has a Masters in Teaching and a Masters in Spirituality, both from Bellarmine University.
Cory was a classroom teacher for 14 years, teaching Spanish at Walden School and Trinity High School, where she also taught theology. In 2013 when she trained to be a human rights defender in Palestine, she made a commitment to the practice of nonviolence that continues to guide her.
Cory has written programs for JustFaith Ministries, including their 2025 Lenten program, Sowing Peace: Digging into Themes of Lament, Repent, and Forgive. She has taught classes on nonviolence at Bellarmine University. As founder of Hart Communication, LLC, Cory has also created and facilitated programming that bring together practices of Nonviolent/Compassionate Communication, mindfulness, and creativity for local, national, and international groups.
